Paul Lavern Stiles
PAUL LAVERN STILES, a resident of Berryville, was born March 29, 1933, in Grandview, a son of M.E. and Alice (Phillips) Stiles. He died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, in Berryville at the age of 73.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean conflict. He was an employee of Walker Sales Co. for 36 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, yard work, and being Poppee Paul and Mr. Fix-it to all the neighborhood children.
Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ava Nell, of the home; three children, Debbie Hollowell of Berryville, Greg Stiles of Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Tammy Smith of Berryville; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Kristin, and Latisha Smith, Kevin and Derek Severs, and Zack and Cole Hollowell; three brothers, Bob Stiles and his wife, Carol, Joy Stiles and his wife Elwanda of Great Bend, Kan., and Don Stiles and his wife, Louetta of Parker, Colo.; two sisters, Louise Phillips of Humansville, Mo., and Wanda Shields of Golden, Colo.; 21 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Faye Farwell, and one brother, Lonnie Stiles.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Warren Rainwater officiating.
