Melvin Lee Moody

MELVIN LEE MOODY, a resident of Berryville, was born Aug. 24, 1939, in Bartlesville, Okla., a son of Mordica and Mary (Mardis) Moody. He died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, in Berryville at the age of 67.

Melvin has been an Arkansas resident since 1986. He was an auto mechanic and worked for the Carroll County Road Department.

On March 8, 1969, he was united in marriage with Linda (Sitterly) Moody, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Charles Moody of Lincoln, Ark., and Gerald Nichols of Green Forest; two daughters, Brenda Martin of Pea Ridge, and Mary Hamilton of Centerton; two brothers, Mordica Moody, Jr. and Floyd Moody; four sisters, Edna Crouch, Betty Moore, Mary Ellen Hoppock, and Margie Payton, all of Bartlesville, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several other relatives; and many friends in Berryville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mordica and Mary Moody; a daughter, Pamela Sue; son, Steven Foust; a granddaughter, Destiny Hamilton; five brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Keith officiating. Interment was in the Oglesby Cemetery in Oglesby, Okla.
