ANITA JAVIERA MERCEDES (McGEE) FISHER, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Nov. 14, 1918, in Ringwood Manor, N.J., a daughter of John and Gloria (Palacin) McGee. She died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, in Eureka Springs, at the age of 88.

Ms. Fisher worked as an advertising copyrighter and creative director. She attended St. Anne's Catholic Church in Berryville.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita Fisher of New York City, two sisters, Margaret Duran of Green Forest, and Mary Williams of Florida, and one nephew, Stephen and wife Maria Duran of Green Forest.

On Sept. 27, 1951, she was united in marriage with Jesse Fisher, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Berryville. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
