BLANCH (BURKS) PHILLIPS JONES, a resident of Rogers, formerly of Berryville, was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Berryville, a daughter of Wesley and Lela (Hawkins) Burks. She died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, in Berryville at the age of 87.

Blanch was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Rogers.

She is survived by two sons, Earl Dean Phillips of Berryville, and Dwight L. Phillips of Gentry; five daughters, Maxine Whiteley, Mary Ellen Kisner, and Donna Faye Janeway all of Berryville, Sharon Sue Anderson of Green Forest, and June Sayre of Lowell; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several other relatives and a host of friends.

On Dec. 14, 1935, she married Vernon Phillips, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 17, 1961, she was united in marriage with Preston Jones, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Lela Burks; and a son, Melvin Phillips.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at the Charles M Nelson Memorial Chapel. Interment was in the Gobbler Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
