After graduating from Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Jerry served almost two years in the Army Airborne, during the Viet Nam War, before being honorably discharged with a partial disability. He then became an engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and at the time of his death had been with them for 30 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane (Ritt) Jones. He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers, Marie Elaina Jones of Green Forest and Joyce Ann (Jones) King and her husband Richard, of Green Forest, Charles E. (Chuck) Jones of Milford, Del., Deryl G. Jones and his wife Cheri, of Riverside, Calif. and Michael W. Jones of Norman, Okla..
At Jerry's request the family has opted for no services; however, if anyone feels the need to make a memorial donation, the family has suggested they be made them the American Cancer Society, Snow Church Cemetery, or a charity or organization of their choice.
