HELEN LOUISE LUNEY died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Hilltop Nursing Center in Harrison at the age of 84. She was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Burlington, Ark. She was the daughter of the late James Earnest and Effie Middleton Roe of Burlington.

Louise was a long-time resident of Boone County. She was a house wife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Melvin Luney; two sisters, Mae Barnes and Virgie Stone; and one brother, Homer Roe.

She is survived by one son, Joe Luney and his wife Susie of Alpena; one daughter, Christene and her husband Gerald Clemence of Harrison; two brothers, Jim Roe of Green Forest and Robert Roe of Omaha; eight grandchildren, Gina and her husband Rob Summers of Collinsville, Okla., Susan and her husband Gerald Drewry of Harrison; Lori Luney of Berryville; Kim and her husband Charles Clark of Compton; Kelley and her husband Richard Hinson of Bergman, Shannon Clemence and his wife Cheryl of Harrison, Shelley and her husband Mark Journagan of Harrison, and Bobby Clemence and his wife Melissa of Harrison; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at the Gass Cemetery in Boone County with Rev. Dwayne Bryant officiating. Interment followed the service under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
