VIRGINIA WARREN, a resident of Berryville, was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Grandview, a daughter of Austin and Lillie Mae (Thompson) Karnes. She died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, in Berryville at the age of 82.

Mrs. Warren was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the hospital auxiliary and was a Wal-Mart greeter.

She is survived by her son, Clifford B. and wife Patty of Berryville; two daughters, Karon and husband Gary Compton of Green Forest; Sharon and husband Stephen Stafford of Green Forest; three brothers, Walter Karnes of Berryville, Gerald Karnes of Aranas Pass, Texas, and Ralph Karnes of Yerington, Nev.; one sister, Wilma Atchley of Rogersville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial funeral services were to be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
