Maudie Crawford Ellis
Maudie Crawford Ellis died at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Chester Miles in Berryville, on Nov. 25, 2006, at the age of 86. She was born on Dec. 4, 1919 in Mangham, Louisiana to the union of Samuel and Effie Crawford.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis, originally from Mangham, La., were held Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel in Rayville, La., with Reverend Kyle Coates officiating. Burial followed in Lone Cherry Cemetery, Mangham, La.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Brooks of New Orleans, La., and Hughlon Ellis of Lena, Miss. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Col. Troy Crawford (USAF-Ret.) who lived in Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Zula Williams of Mangham, La., Ollie Sharbono and Ovie Hannah of Rayville, La., a former husband and the father of her children, J.B. Weston of Winnsboro, La.; a granddaughter, Stephanie Anne Weston and a grandson, Baby Boy Weston; and other family members and friends.
Besides Millie and Ches, she is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mickie and Ray Higgins, also of Berryville, as well as sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Mary Weston of Hurley, Miss., John and Beverly Weston of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Michael and Debbie Weston of Beaumont, Texas, and Jay and Debbie Weston of Pace, Fla. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends
