JAMES A. 'ANDY' CARL, 81, of Marble, died Nov. 23, 2006, at St. John's Hospital -- Berryville.

He was born March 30, 1925, at Sherman, Texas, the son of John Arthur and Florence Maybelle Wisdom Carl. He was a truck driver and a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Mae Roselo and his first wife, Mary Inez Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Melinda Thacker Carl of the home; five sons, James Richard Carl and Jerry Arthur Carl, both of Greeley, Colo., Ronny Lee Carl of Jessieville, Ark., Rockey Lane Claude Carl of Calion, Ark. and Allen Ray Taylor of Mountain Pine, Ark.; four daughters, Shirley Kimmel and Vera Hidie, both of Sheridan, Wyo., Crystal Martin and Lavern Hedges, both of Marble; one brother, Pete Carl of San Angelo, Texas; two sisters, Danie Cupps of Marble and Marie Rose of Houston, Texas; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were to be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the Big Sandy Church with Rev. Willie Foster officiating. Interment was to be in the Big Sandy Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
