Teddy Glen Orrell
TEDDY GLEN ORRELL was born Aug. 11, 1918, in the Zion Hill Community of Green Forest to Riley and Arminta (Collier) Orrell. He died Nov. 13, 2006, at Berryville at the age of 88.
Teddy was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: Ben, Bessie, Lucy, Raymond, Ilene, Dedah, Lundy and Auburn.
He married Billie Hitch on Feb. 26, 1950, and they were married for 56 years. He is survived by his wife and two children, Charles and Patty Orrell of Berryville and Katie and Patrick Turley of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ashley and Dusty Barrett, Marcus and Kristy Orrell, Megan Turley and Patrick Turley.
Teddy served with the U.S. Army in WWII during the Battle of the Bulge and later in Alaska. He was a Christian and an active member of the Green Forest American Legion Post.
Teddy retired after many years of service to the Carroll Electric Cooperative. He enjoyed farming, gardening and won several blue ribbons for his potatoes at the Carroll County Fair.
He has been a resident of Green Forest for most of his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jordan-Davis American Legion Post of Green Forest or Gideons International.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Smith Family Funeral Chapel in Green Forest. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
