Donald C. Blevins
DONALD C. BLEVINS, 58, of Lampe, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, with his family and many friends at his bedside.
He was born Feb. 3, 1948, in Enon, Ark., to Lonnie Howard Blevins and Evelyn Estella Peden Blevins.
He was a truck driver. He was an avid outdoorsman. Some of his pastimes were hunting, fishing, and riding and breaking horses. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved all children and was known as Grandpa to many children in the area.
His love of Christ and profession of faith was evident by his desire to serve the Lord and worship in many area churches.
He is survived by one son, Donald Dale Blevins and his wife Lisa of Lampe; three daughters, Teresa Porter and her husband Tony of Blue Eye, Mo., Michelle Pinkley of Blue Eye, and Sherry Lassiter and her husband Jared of Blue Eye; one brother, Buster Blevins and his wife, Bobbie Kay of Blue Eye; five sisters, Noni Williams of Norfolk, Neb., Linda Bettin and her husband Stan of Branson, Mo., Marsha Rae Abrahamson of Omaha, Neb., Gae Redford and her husband Steve of Branson, and Cuba McCreary and her husband Larry of Hot Springs; 14 grandchildren, Ashton Porter, Kayla Patrick, Anthony Patrick, Lonnie Blevins, Hunter Blevins, Josh Pinkley, Victoria Pinkley, Logan Isabelle, Brady Isabelle, Justin Snyder, Jarrett Snyder, Jenna Moudi, Lexy Lassiter and Dawson Lassiter; numereous nieces and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joe Dean "Jomer" Blevins, and two sisters, Mae Korth and Bobbie Fern Nuttleman.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at Mt. Olivet Free Will Baptist Church in Blue Eye, Mo., with Rev. Bruce Haynes officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the church. Interment will be in Blue Eye Cemetery.
