BERRYVILLE -- The Berryville Lady Bobcat volleyball teams didn't get a win over the Gravette Lady Lions Tuesday night, but Coach Kristin Smith said "The girls played hard.

"The junior high and JV teams have improved a lot, and the varsity came back in the last game when we made some adjustments," she noted.

The varsity fell 15-25, 11-25, 17-25. The JV lost 17-25, 10-25, and the junior high lost 11-25, 15-25.

Varsity vs Gravette

"I had moved our back row players up last week when teams were dropping us short, but Gravette was hitting long, so I moved them back in the third game and we caught up a little," Coach Smith said.

In the first game, Katie Tennant had 10 good sets and 2 kills, Heather Eaves had 2 kills and 2 digs, Ashley Edens had a kill and 2 digs, Megan Gibbins 4 kills and 2 scoring serves, Hailey Russell 2 scoring serves and a dig, and Emily Ray a dig.

"We were up at first, but Gravette had one tall girl that could really play, and we didn't adjust to her," Smith said.

In game two, Tennant had 4 scoring serves and 2 kills, Eaves had 2 scoring serves, Ray and Krystal Changus a dig each, Edens 3 scoring serves, and Gibbins 3 blocks and 2 kills.

In game three, Tori Wilson had 3 good sets, Tennant 10 sets, 2 blocks and a kill, Ray 2 kills and 2 scoring serves, Changus a dig, Russell 5 scoring serves, and Gibbins 2 scoring serves and a kill.

JV- 17-25, 10-25

"The JV has improved a lot and played very well, but not with as much intensity," Coach Smith said. "That hurt us."

In game one, Kristina Wilson had 6 scoring serves and Jordan Edwards had a block. In game two, Hayley Minney and Jessica Costner had a kill, and Russell 6 good serves.

JH- 11-25, 15-25

"The junior high played very well, very hard, and improved tremendously," Coach Smith said. "Brenan Epley had a lot of digs, and Jesse Phillips had some good serves."
