ROBERT McELYEA died Aug. 2, 2006, in Jacksonville, Fla.

He was born June 12, 1951, in Berryville to D.G. "Mutt" and Gladys McElyea. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degreee in mechanical engineering. He traveled extensively during his professional career, overseeing the construction of paper mills in Borneo and Indonesia.

Mr. McElyea was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Suzy, of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters Freddie Crapps and her husband LeRoy of Berryville, June Kimes and her husband Raymond of Berryville, and Jody McAnally of Rogers; several nieces and nephews; his father-in-law Homer Doriot of West Lafayette, Ind.; and sister and brother-in-law Janice and Mike Spitalniak of Lafayette, Ind.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Fla. Interment services will be held at a future date in Berryville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Kidney Foundation.
