WENDELL R. SATTERFIELD, a resident of Green Forest, was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Green Forest, a son of Noah W. and Braddie (Jackson) Satterfield. He died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in his home at the age of 76.

Wendell was a member of the Green Forest Church of Christ. A lifelong cattleman, he also owned and operated Satterfield Feed and Farm Supply at Farewell for many years and later was involved in real estate. Wendell was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Satterfield Realty in Green Forest and was a former justice of the peace.

On July 3, 1953, he was united in marriage with Peggy (Norris) Satterfield, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his son and daughter in law, Greg and Cheryl Satterfield of Harrison; two daughters, Debbie Ruff of Rogers, and Cindy and her husband, David Bungert of Tampa, Florida; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; two nephews; many other relatives; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15, 2006, at the Church of Christ in Green Forest with Bill McFarland and Ron Adams officiating. Interment was the Farewell Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
