Hackin for Health tourney raises $5,400
BERRYVILLE -- On Friday, June 2, Carroll Health Foundation hosted its 11th annual golf tournament. Held at Holiday Island Country Club, this year's tournament featured a new name, the Carroll County Charity Golf Classic, and a new format.
This year's four-person scramble was very successful, raising approximately $5,400 for People Helping People, healthcare scholarships and community programs for St. John's Hospital -- Berryville.
Thirty-six teams came out for the four-person scramble that kicked off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Plaques and trophies by Triple S Trophies, as well as pro shop gift certificates and assorted prizes were given to first, second, and third place in each of three flights.
In addition to the flight awards, prizes were given for men's and ladies' Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin by Community First Bank, Morton's Experienced Balls and A.G. Edwards & Sons -- Harrison.
Corporate sponsorships were provided by Carroll County News, First National Bank of Green Forest, KTHS, McBride Distributing Co, Inc., Pinnacle Health Group, and St. John's Hospital-Berryville.
Hole-in-one sponsor for the event was www.softub.com from Eagle Rock, Mo. In addition, there were 26 other sponsors who contributed awards, door prizes, food, and giveaways.
As a special feature for this year's tournament, Bank of Eureka Springs offered participants the opportunity to Beat the Banker and raised over $500 for the tournament's charities.
