RAYMOND BIGGERSTAFF, a resident of Berryville, was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Grandview, a son of Harve Issac and Annis (Smith) Biggerstaff. He died Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Berryville, at the age of 80.

Raymond was a farmer and a school bus driver for Carroll County. He attended Airway Chapel and was a member of I.O.O.F. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for his service in the Army.

On May 6, 1946, he was united in marriage with Berniece (Williams) Biggerstaff, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by three daughters and sons in law, Celeta and her husband, Gary Johns of Mo., Kay and Jerry Tanksley and Judie and Fred Neal, all of Berryville; two sisters, Clemie Snow and Roenia Johnson, both of Berryville; a brother, C.R. Biggerstaff of Berryville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harve and Annis Biggerstaff; a sister, Venice Williams; and one brother, Junior Biggerstaff.

Graveside funeral services were held Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery with Jr. Dotson officiating. Interment followed the service under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
