Champions Basketball Camps hosted 70 future stars this week

BERRYVILLE -- Champions were named in five events, including Free Throws, Hot Shot, Obstacle Course, 1-on-1, and 3-on-3, plus an Outstanding Camper award, in each of five age groups at the 2006 Girls Champions Basketball Camp this week in Berryville.

Coaches Matt Carter, Budd Smith, and Brent Compton supervised the contests, with help from Bobcat athletes Tori Grim, Elise Holman, Aubree Fry, Ariel Ferguson, Megan Plumlee, Ashley Edens, and Megan Gibbins, then announced the following winners before a big crowd of parents:



Outstanding Campers

4th- Lauren Penticost; 5th- Kyrsten Gies; 6th- Lauren Robinett; 7th- Kaylee Edens; 8th- Katie Swofford.

Free Throw Champs

4th- Morgan Ray; 5th- Samantha Eaves; 6th- Lauren Robinett; 7th- Nikki Mullen; 8th- Brenan Epley.

Hot Shot Champs

4th- Lauren Penticost; 5th- Britney Smith; 6th- Miranda Holcomb; 7th- Allison Winkle; 8th- Brenan Epley.

Obstacle Course Champs

4th- Hayley Skelton; 5th- Britney Smith; 6th- Miranda Holcomb; 7th- Nikki Mullen; 8th- Mikkayla Flores.

1-on-1 Champs

4th- Rachel Lehr; 5th- Britney Smith; 6th- Miranda Holcomb; 7th- Tara Mullen; 8th- Mikkayla Flores.

3-on-3 Champs

4th-5th- Wild Cats- Britney Smith, Hayley Skelton, Allyson Smith;

6th-7th-8th- Flying Squirrels- Nikki Mullen, Jody King, Taylor Jones.
