GOLDIE E. EDMONDSON, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Sept, 7, 1908, in Carroll County, a daughter of Claude Elmer and Mary Elizabeth (Carney) Warren. She died Monday, June 5, 2006, in Eureka Springs at the age of 97.
In 1944, Mrs. Edmondson became a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church, where her membership remained until her death. She was a homemaker and worked at Ocoma Foods from 1953 until 1973.
She is survived by one son, Ralph Edmondson of Yakima, Wash.; six daughters, Helen Smith of Eureka Springs, Ruth Miller of Green Forest, Clara Moore of Eureka Springs, Gladys House of Berryville, Ruby McMahan of Green Forest and Threasa Ambrose of Berryville; 35 grandchildren; 110 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four half-brothers and one half-sister; several other relatives and many friends.
On Feb. 3, 1923, she was united in marriage with Durward Raymond Edmondson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Raymond and Charlie Edmondson, four grandsons, Keith House, Lonnie Moore, Danny Edmondson, and Charlie Edmondson, Jr.; five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at the Nelson Chapel in Berryville with Bro. Dean Smith, Bro. Joe Summers and Bro. Varl Ball officiating. Interment was in the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Grandview Cemetery.
