TRUMAN LEROY (DOBY) THARP, a resident of Blue Eye, was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Blue Eye, Ark., a son of Garland and Elva (Head) Tharp. He died Friday, June 2, 2006, in Branson, Mo., at the age of 73.

Doby was an iron worker. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #626 in St. Louis, Mo.

On Feb. 18, 1951, he was united in marriage with Anna L. (Clevenger) Tharp, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Danny Tharp of Branson West, Mo., and Charles Tharp of Lampe, Mo.; a daughter, Teresa Johnson of Blue Eye, Mo.; a brother and sister in law, Jerry and Becky Tharp of Monett, Mo.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Elva Tharp; one son; and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 5, 2006, at the Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Freddy Blevins and Bro. Dale Kester officiating.
