MELLIE MARIE PETERSON, a resident of Blue Eye, Mo., was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Enon, Ark., a daughter of Lloyd and Gladys (Smith) Blevins. She died Monday, May 29, 2006, in Berryville, at the age of 80.

Marie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church in Blue Eye.

On Jan. 2, 1947, she was united in marriage with Bernard (Pete) Peterson, who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Redford of Blue Eye; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and O.B. Bradley of Abilene, Kan.; many other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Gladys Blevins.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Dale Kester officiating. Interment was in the Blue Eye Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.
