RICHARD CLAY ECKLAND died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at his home in Eagle Rock, Mo. He was 62 and a former resident of Wichita, Kan. Richard was born on June 8, 1943, at Wichita to Paul Clay and Pauline Barbara (Current) Eckland. He graduated from high school and lived most of his life in the Wichita area.

On Nov. 12, 1965, he married Susie Jean Hall at Wichita, and to this union was born two daughters, Shelley Ann and Becky Sue.

Richard was employed as a production worker for Love Box Co. and later became a truck driver for Fleming Foods. In August of 1990, Richard and his family moved to Eureka Springs, where he was self-employed. In 1994, they moved to Eagle Rock, where Richard was a business owner for several years.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Eureka Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Susie; his daughters, Becky Eckland of the home and Shelley Crawford of Eureka Springs; four grandchildren and an uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 19, at the First Assembly of God in Eureka Springs with pastor Gene Gilmore officiating. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, May 9, at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kan.

A memorial has been established with the First Assembly of God Church in Eureka Springs. contributions may be left with the funeral home. The funeral arrangements were made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard, Kan.
