JUNIOR (JIMMIE) TUCKER, 63, a resident of Springdale, formerly of Berryville and Green Forest, was born April 28, 1942, in Dinsmore, Ark., a son of William Elige and Betty (Ross) Tucker. He died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, after a long battle with cancer.

Jimmie, known as "Runabout," started out as a truck driver at a young age. Over the years, he drove for several companies including Bill F. Smith, Joe Rex Humbard, Campa Milk Co., North Arkansas Livestock, Powell Farms, and retiring from Wal-Mart. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and playing with his grandchildren. Jimmie was of the Baptist faith.

On July 30, 1960, he was united in marriage with Wanda (Marshall) Tucker, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Tucker of Springdale; two sons, Scott Tucker of Lowell, and Bradley and his wife, Shannon Tucker of Springdale; a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Russell Ray of Springdale; five grandchildren, Ashley Chaney, Christine Tucker, Brett Tucker, Cheyenne Tucker, and Jarrett Ray; three step grandchildren, Clinton Ray, Logan Ray, and Keele Marlett; and a host of friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Elige Tucker; an infant sister; and his grandparents, Fred and Gladys Ross and Tom and Mertie Tucker.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 17, 2006, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Payne and Rev. Billy Burks officiating.
