ELSIE VINITA FINCH, a resident of Maple, was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Green Forest, a daughter of Ernest Tillman and Mary Ellen (High) Brown. She died Sunday, April 2, 2006, in Berryville at the age of 84.

Ms. Finch was a homemaker.

She is survived by her five sons, Charlie Finch of Maple, Jimmie Finch of Carr Lane, Mo., Benjamin Finch of Springdale, and John Finch and Elmer Finch both of Maple; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.

On Nov. 5, 1944, she was united in marriage with Elmer Franklin Finch, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mary Brown; her son, Scottie; four brothers, Eddie Brown, John Brown, Demphis Brown, and Ernest Brown; and four sisters, Gertie Brown, Mary Jane Brown, Bessie Brown Morris, and Vaner Brown.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the High Church with Rev. Jerry Don Blevins officiating. Interment was in the High Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
