DAVID BEALS CASSADY, a resident of Eureka Springs from 1942 to 1946, and the son of former Eureka Springs residents Constance and Edward Wagner, David Cassady died Feb. 20, 2006, in Pinole, Calif.

He was born in Chicago on December 15, 1926. He graduated from Eureka Springs High School in 1945 and served in the Army toward the end of World War II, then settled in Berkeley, Calif. He attended the University of California at Berkeley and worked for Pacific Gas & Electric as a gas distribution engineer for 36 years, retiring in 1983.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, a daughter Kathleen of San Leandro, Calif.; a son Mark of Los Osos, Calif.; and a son John of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren; a sister Joan Wagner Teller of Tacoma, Wash. Another sister, Clare Cassady El Tom, preceded him in death in 1996 and a brother, Kevin Cassady, in 2005.
