'Simon Peter' visits Island church women
HOLIDAY ISLAND --
Holiday Island Community Church Ladies' Fellowship met on Monday, March 27. Georgina Thrasher gave the opening prayer followed by a devotional reading by Charlotte Solleder. The program was presented by Community Church member Chuck Faden appearing as Simon Peter.
"Simon Peter" described his first meeting with Jesus by the Sea of Galilee and other events during his time as one of Christ's disciples. Peter led the members and guests present in the Lord's Prayer.
Faden described his work with the New Holy Land Tour on the Passion Play grounds, appearing as Simon Peter at the Sea of Galilee or in the Tabernacle. Faden also informed the members that the first week of the season beginning on April 29, 2006, and the last week of the season at the end of October are free to Carroll County residents.
Lorene Whittington urged members to make reservations for the National Day of Prayer at the Inn of the Ozarks on May 4.
Laura Nichols reminded the members of a seven-week Beth Moore study, "When Godly People Do Ungodly Things." The study will be offered two different times a week starting April 11.
Refreshments were prepared by Ellen Cook and Georgina Thrasher.
The next meeting of the Ladies' Fellowship will be held on April 24. All women of the community are invited to attend. For further information please call Bonnie Williamson at (479) 253-5393.
