Myrtle J. (Momo) Hickman

MYRTLE J. (MOMO) HICKMAN, a resident of Berryville, was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Marshall, a daughter of W.C. and Lillie (DePriest) Ross. She died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, in Berryville at the age of 89.

Mrs. Hickman was a homemaker and a beautician. She was very active in the Christian Church in Harrison, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Green Forest. She was a member of the Garden Club in Harrison. Mrs. Hickman loved her family, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Hickman Moore and her husband, Wilson of Green Forest; her grandson, Jeff Roberts of Green Forest; a granddaughter, Julie Pruitt and her husband, Ray of Neosho, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Roberts, Carl Roberts, and Janci Fowkes; a sister, Laverne Beaver of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, R.C. Ross of Hot Springs; many other relatives; and a host of friends.

On Feb. 26, 1936, she was united in marriage with John Hickman who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Lillie Ross; and her siblings, Claude Ross, Audy Ross, Faye Ross Hudson, James Austin (Dutch) Ross, W.T. (Short) Ross and Bonnie Ross Maxwell.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at the Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating.
