Rita Jean Massey

RITA JEAN MASSEY, 71, of Sand Springs, Okla., died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, in Tulsa. She was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Carroll County, Ark., on Brushy Creek and was the daughter of Ted and Alice Doss.

Rita was a homemaker and a member of the General Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters Dixie Kern and husband Ross of Sand Springs, Debbie O'Neill and husband Mike of Sand Springs, Denise Christy and husband Don of Glencoe, and Drusella Webster and husband Steve of Sand Springs; son Darren Massey and wife Wendy of Sand Springs; sister Mary Shockley and husband Woody of Bristow; brothers Carl Doss and wife Donna of Sand Springs, Ronnie Doss and wife Lily of Sand Springs; Richard Doss and wife Kay of Lake Charles, La., and Sammy Doss and wife Martha of Bristow; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Rita was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband Jack Ray Massey; sisters Rosie Inman, Dorothy Mae Doss, Helen Thompson and Ruth Green, and brothers Tommy Doss and Johnny Doss.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at the Calvary Heights Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tommy Cole officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Memorial park Cemetery under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.
