Martha Mae Baldwin

MARTHA MAE BALDWIN, a resident of Berryville, was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Irene, Kan., a daughter of James Alonzo and Fronia P. (Eyer) Thompson. She died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, in Berryville at the age of 87.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Dean Baldwin of Jasper, Jim Baldwin of Bothel, Wash., and Gary Baldwin of Cleveland, Tenn.; three daughters, Carolyn Baldwin of Berryville, Sharon Walters of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elaine West of Berryville; three brothers, Harold Thompson of Syracuse, Kan., Clayton Thompson of Norman, Okla., and Earl Thompson of Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Luella Russell of Seattle, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On Nov. 24, 1937, she was united in marriage with Lester Wesley Baldwin, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at the Nelson Chapel in Berryville with Rev. Robert Baldwin and Rev. Herb Berkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Berryville Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
