BERTHA PLOUCH, 85, a lifelong resident of Eureka Springs, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, in Eureka Springs. She was born in the Rockhouse Community in Carroll County on Dec.31, 1919.
Mrs. Plouch was an employee of Inn of the Ozarks for 40 years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church, where she was baptized in 1999.
She is survived by two daughters, Kay Kelley and her husband, Richard, of Eureka Springs, and Shirley Smith and her husband, J.I., of Exeter, Mo.; six grandchildren, Tessa Phillips of Florida, Tina Mitchener of Hot Springs, Jeff Gay of Eureka Springs, Charree Kelly, Donna Musick and Mark Smith all of Missouri; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
In 1991, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Orval Plouch.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at the Eureka Springs Cemetery with Rev. Tim Garrison officiating. Interment followed the service in the Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
