Darran Dean Plumlee

Darran Dean Plumlee, 24, of Parsons, Kan., died Friday, Oct. 28, from injuries sustained in an accident at Little Sahara State Park near Waynoka, Okla. He was born Oct. 14, 1981, in Parsons to Ricky Plumlee and Becky Strickland Plumlee Davis.

He is survived by his parents, Rick and Sherri Plumlee, of Berryville, and Matthew and Becky Davis of Altamont, Kan.; four brothers, Joshua Plumlee of Berryville, Mickey Plumlee of Altamont, and Christopher Plumlee and Kenton Plumlee, both of Berryville; a sister, Micha Davis, of Oswego, Kan; grandparents Lorene Plumlee of Berryville, Maynard and Alice Davis of Bartlett, Kan., and Jim and Gayle Peoples of Altamont; six aunts; two uncles; and several cousins in Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Denton and Clara Swofford, and Dan and Julia Plumlee, of Berryville; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Best of Bartlett, Richard Plumlee of Berryville, Jack Strickland, of Oswego, Kan., and Bonnie Strickland Peoples, of Altamont.

He attended grade school in Bartlett and was a 2001 graduate of Labette County High School. He was employed by Billman's Mobile Home Service in Parsons, and had previously worked as a welder for Metal Masters in Parsons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and participating in demolition derbies.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont.
