Carr, Hussey win B'ville club 4-ball tourney
BERRYVILLE -- The Carroll County Country Club held its annual men's four-ball club championship last weekend, and no one even minded when play was halted late Saturday afternoon due to rain and lightning.
Doug Carr and Jamie Hussey made the most of their time on the links, winning the championship flight with a 67-67=134 and bragging rights for the next year.
The course was in great shape, thanks to the efforts of Dewayne Genareux, but the rain was welcome anyway. Lightning and raindrops halted play about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, with just four groups in to the clubhouse.
Everyone finished the first round up Sunday morning, starting at 11 a.m., then golfers battled humid conditions through the second round that afternoon.
