Week of July 30

July 30

1:14 p.m. -- Police were dispatched to Murphy USA on a welfare concern. Officer made contact with employee and all was OK.

10:35 p.m. -- Police responded to a loud music complaint on Edwards St. The music was turned down upon request.

11:50 p.m. -- Officer initiated a traffic stop on S. Springfield St. and Carl Ave. for driving left of center which led to the driver arrested for DWI.

July 31

12:44 a.m. -- Police were dispatched to Furniture Factory Outlet on a report of a window breaking and someone inside. A juvenile was arrested for burglary.

3:59 a.m. -- Police responded to an alarm at Community First Bank. All checked OK.

7:10 a.m. -- Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at Muffler World. The juvenile arrested earlier was charged with the crime.

10:54 p.m. -- Officer responded to a report of a suspicious truck at A.L. Carter Field. Officer checked the area but did not locate the truck.

Aug. 1

9:18 a.m. -- Police took a report on a forgery complaint.

11:09 a.m. -- Police responded to a private property traffic accident at the Carroll County Court House parking lot. A report was taken.

1:10 p.m. -- Police took a report on theft of a driver's license and social security card which took place at Wal-Mart.

1:30 p.m. -- Officer initiated a check of a vehicle parked in a private lot north of Main Liquor. No registration information on file.

3:30 p.m. -- Police arrested a male juvenile at Kimes for shoplifting. The juvenile subject was taken to the juvenile officer.

10:18 p.m. -- Officer explained the curfew and park closing to juveniles at City Park. All was OK.

11:12 p.m. -- Police responded to a private property traffic accident at Tysons. A report was taken.

Aug. 2

12:53 a.m. -- Officer initiated a security check at Dr. Spurlins office. All was OK.

1:43 a.m. -- Officer initiated a check of two boys in a vehicle on Adams Ave. Officer spoke to parent and boys wanted to sleep in the car.

7:36 a.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Sunrise Motel concerning a subject with a complaint. Officer visited with subject.

11:25 a.m. -- Officer took a theft of property report.

2:10 p.m. -- Police were dispatched to the junction of Hwy. 21 and Hwy. 221 S. to check area for a black Chevy wanted by the Madison County Sheriff's Office. Negative contact made.

2:27 p.m. -- Police responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Hwy. 62 near Main Liquor. A report was taken.

5:13 p.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Pritchard St. to retrieve a found cell phone. The phone was returned to the owner.

5:58 p.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Hwy. 21 S. at city limits concerning a vehicle blocking traffic. Officer checked area and all was OK.

6:45 p.m. -- Officer responded to a 911 call on Circle Dr. There was a water leak inside residence and officer assisted turning water off.

8:00 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of a prowler on Bobo Ave. Extra patrol was requested.

10:12 p.m. -- Police responded to a domestic disturbance at Locust Heights Apartments. Suspect gone upon arrival.

11:46 p.m. -- Officer took a vandalism report at Tysons.

Aug. 3

12:02 a.m. -- Police were dispatched to Country Junction to look for a reckless driver heading towards Berryville. The vehicle turned off on a county road.

12:12 a.m. -- Police were dispatched to Locust Heights Apartments on a report of suspect back in area. Officer located and warned suspect.

1:25 a.m. -- Police responded to a report of a woman driving reckless at Tysons. Officer cited driver for reckless driving.

2:13 a.m. -- Police responded to an alarm at Castle Pawn. All checked OK.

10:00 a.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Stubbs on a report of a truck driver acting strange. Driver left prior to arrival.

10:09 a.m. -- Police responded to an alarm at the ATM at Exxon. All checked OK.

12:00 p.m. -- Police responded to a 911 hang-up call on Huntsville St. All checked OK.

12:22 p.m. -- Police responded to a private property traffic accident. No report required -- drivers exchanged information.

2:00 p.m. -- Police were dispatched to Elsie St. to contact subject about another subjects behavior. Information was taken.

2:47 p.m. -- Police responded to a traffic accident on Public Square near Wilson's. Drivers and vehicles gone from scene.

6:43 p.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Rice St. on a report that subjects spouse left and wanted police to find her. Subject was referred to Ozark Guidance.

7:40 p.m. -- Officer assisted Sheriff's Department and EMS on County Road 702.

9:48 p.m. -- Officer responded to an harassment complaint at Locust Heights Apartments. All involved were warned.

10:39 p.m. -- Officer cautioned a boy on a bike on High St. about the dangerous situation of having no lights and about the curfew.

Aug. 4

12:42 a.m. -- Police were dispatched to old Carroll County Jail concerning a possible intoxicated person. The subject was not intoxicated and had left the city.

10:33 a.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Sycamore St. concerning suspicious mail. Mail was secured and turned over to the investigator.

1:30 p.m. -- Extra patrol was requested at A.L. Carter Field after trash barrels were found burned.

2:47 p.m. -- Officer met with young kids and grandparents and spoke to them about the perils of stealing.

4:30 p.m. -- Officer responded to a child custody dispute at the layaway section of Wal-Mart. Officer attempted to located involved but negative results.

4:40 p.m. -- Police responded to a possible domestic disturbance at Sunrise Motel. A report was taken.

8:18 p.m. -- Police responded to a domestic disturbance on N. Springfield St. A male subject was arrested.

8:26 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of a suspicious male on Douglas St. Subject gone upon arrival.

9:00 p.m. -- Officer picked up a prisoner from Harrison Police Department on a Berryville warrant and transported prisoner back to Carroll County Jail.

9:13 p.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Sunrise Motel. The manager had locked a subject out of a room -- the issue was resolved.

Aug. 5

12:38 a.m. -- Officer observed broken bottles and glass on Springfield St. and Freeman St. Officer swept broken glass from roadway.

11:50 a.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Cherry St. on a welfare concern. Officer checked with subject and all was OK.

11:50 a.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Douglas St. to take a report on theft of a bike.

12:53 p.m. -- Police responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Hwy. 62 at White Oak Station. A report was taken.

2:18 p.m. -- Police took a report on a subject passing a bad check at Murphy's USA.

3:54 p.m. -- Officer initiated a traffic stop on S. Springfield St. at Brashear's Warehouse on a known wanted person. A male adult was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

5:35 p.m. -- Officer was dispatched to Locust Heights Apartments to take a report on a stalking complaint.

Aug. 6

12:16 a.m. -- Officer observed a vehicle leaving A.L. Carter Field. Officer checked and advised occupants that the field was closed.

10:09 a.m. -- Police responded to a non-injury traffic accident on College Ave. and Springfield St. A report was taken.

10:38 a.m. -- Police took a report on theft of mail.

1:07 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of an unwanted guest on W. Freeman Ave. It was a misunderstanding and all was OK.

2:04 p.m. -- Police responded to a loud music complaint on Spruce St. A wedding was in progress and the music would be stopped shortly.

3:35 p.m. -- Police responded to a fight in the Carroll County Sheriff's Office parking lot. It was a verbal dispute over child custody and the issue was resolved.

4:59 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of a tree in the roadway on Jackson St. Officer moved the tree.

10:48 p.m. -- Officer initiated a check of an occupied vehicle behind the elementary school. Subjects were advised to leave.

Aug. 7

1:39 a.m. -- Officer cited the driver of a vehicle for driving on the grass at City Park.

12:26 p.m. -- Officer was dispatched to St. John's ER to take information concerning a strange note left with subject.

12:51 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of a possible prowler on Bobo St. Footprints were found in the yard.

2:23 p.m. -- Officer responded to a report of an unwanted guest on Elm St. Subject left without incident.

2:45 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of an intoxicated person causing problems on S. Springfield St. Subject went inside for the night.

6:05 p.m. -- Police responded to an alarm at Nighthawk Custom. All checked OK.

7:24 p.m. -- Police provided standby for a child custody exchange. The exchange was made without incident.

11:07 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of an intoxicated person at Kimes. Subject was arrested.
