Rev. Scott Cox returns to Berryville to serve as Southern Heights Baptist pastor
Rev. Scott Cox returned to Berryville on June 12 to serve as pastor of Southern Heights Baptist Church, located at 279 Hwy. 221 S., Berryville.
Rev. Cox was born May 12, 1965, in Dothan, Ala., and graduated high school in 1983 from Wicksburg High School, Newton, Ala. He attended George C. Wallace Community College, Dothan, Ala., and graduated in 1987 from Mobile College with a B.S. in Mathematics. He also attended and is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1987-1991, and is presently finishing a Doctor of Ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Rev. Cox is married to Loree Cox, formerly of Springfield, Mo., and they have two children, Kylee and Caleb. Rev. Cox's ministry experience includes: Senior Pastor, Hartford Baptist Church, Hartford, Ala., 1997-2005; Senior Pastor, Freeman Heights Baptist Church, Berryville, 1993-1997; and Senior Pastor, Panacea First Baptist Church, Panacea, Fla., 1991-1993.
His wife is teaching a children's' Bible study on the Fruits of the Spirit through the summer at 6 p.m. This is for children going into the first through those going into the sixth grade.
