Mr. Starkey was in the printing business. He attended God's Lighthouse in Bentonville. Mr. Starkey was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a life member of D.A.V. and the American Legion.
On Aug. 5, 1939, he was united in marriage with Stella (Meeks) Starkey, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Charles Wayne Starkey of Huntsville, and Harold Starkey of Goodman, Mo.; two daughters, Genevieve Partain of Gravette, and Shelia Starkey of Rogers; two sisters, Bessie Cash of Hawthorn, of Nevada, and Majorie Nichols of Bartlesville, Okla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; several other relatives; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minnie Starkey; two brothers, Orville Starkey and Albert Starkey; and three sisters, Winnie Wishom, Ellie Smith, and Lula Tilford.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Nelsons Chapel of the Springs with Rev. Leroy Norton officiating. Interment was in the Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
