Roy Dwight Larimer
ROY DWIGHT LARIMER, SR., a resident of Green Forest, was born April 30, 1938, in Wichita, Kan. He died Sunday, May 15, 2005, in Berryville, at the age of 67.
Roy owned Larimer Printing in Green Forest. He was the mayor of Green Forest for eight years. Roy was a member of the Yell Masonic Lodge #64 in Green Forest and a 32nd degree Mason in the Valley of Little Rock, and a member of the Arkansas Press Association. Roy was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy. He was a member of the Beth'El Baptist Church in Green Forest.
On June 17, 1962, he was united in marriage with Peggy (Roberts) Larimer, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by four sons, Dwight Larimer II of Green Forest, Darren Larimer of Bentonville, and Stephen Larimer and Nathan Larimer, both of Green Forest; his parents, Ted and Margaret Larimer of Green Forest; two brothers, Ted Larimer of Eureka Springs, and Tom Larimer of Little Rock; eight grandchildren, Roy D. Larimer III, Kyle Larimer, Christian Larimer, Rebecca Larimer, Kaylin Larimer, Olivia Larimer, Hannah Larimer, and Nicholas Larimer; several nieces and nephews; many other family members; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorial funeral services were held Thursday, May 17, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Green Forest with Bro. Joe Summers officiating. Arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
