JACK JAMES NANCE, a resident of Shell Knob, Mo., was born June 23, 1927, in Kansas City, Mo., a son of Vansal J. Brian and Eva Irene (Hale) Nance. He died Monday, May 9, 2005, in Berryville, at the age of 77.

Jack was a service man for Keebler Cookie Co. He was of the Baptist faith. Jack was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his step son, David A. Dill, of Denver, Colo.; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Nance of Berryville, Arlon Nance and Nolan Nance both of Springdale, and Freddie Nance of Oak Grove; a sister, Floella Swafford of Shell Knob, Mo.; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends.

On July 27, 1951, he was united in marriage with Theresa Susan (Malsom) Nance, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Vansal and Eva Nance; a step son, C.J. Dill; and one brother, Wendell Nance.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 12, 2005, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville with Bro. George Chadwell and Bro. Russell Martin officiating.
