Hazel Prentice Burkett
HAZEL PRENTICE BURKETT, a resident of Pine Bluff, Ark. formerly of Berryville, was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Green Forest, a daughter of Hugh and Myrtle (Marriott) Wells. She died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, in Pine Bluff at the age of 84.
Mrs. Burkett was the curator of Saunders Museum in Berryville for many years. She was a member of Towering Oaks Church in Berryville.
She is survived by her son Fritze and his wife Ruby Prentice of Pine Bluff; one grandson, Harold Prentice of Star City, Ark.; sister-in-law, Barbara Wells of Dallas, Texas; two step-sons, Ronald and his wife Cathy Burkett of Springfield, Mo. and Don and wife Betty Burkett of Ft. Worth, Texas; two step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In 1940 she was united in marriage with Jewette Prentice, who preceded her in death. In 1993 she was united in marriage with Howard Burkett, who also preceded her in death. Her parents and one brother also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dean Smith officiating.
