Dixie Lee Walker
DIXIE LEE WALKER, 75, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, after an extended illness. She was born April 12, 1930, in Berryville, to Samuel and Mary (Gage) McKinney.
She graduated from High School of the Ozarks in Hollister, Mo. in 1948. She attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas and on Feb. 12, 1951, she married Patrick D. Walker. She and Pat lived in Alaska at one time where she worked for the University of Alaska. They came to Oklahoma in 1962. She worked for Oklahoma University and later for Oklahoma City University. She and Pat founded their own company and she helped operate this business until her retirement.
She was an active and faithful member of Graceway Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, where she taught a ladies Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mary McKinney; her husband, Patrick; and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two daughters, Tylene Robertson and husband Gary of Oklahoma City, and Annette Marshall and her husband Robert of Mustang, Okla.; one brother, Don McKinney of Little Rock; and two sisters, Pat Kaus of Springdale, and Lorrene Bailey of Berryville; two grandchildren, Cody Marshall and Logan Marshall both of Mustang.
Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, April 21, 2005, at the Moore Cemetery in Berryville under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
