Teen killed in car crash

GREEN FOREST ---- One person was killed and two others injured in a traffic accident Tuesday evening near Green Forest.

Eleazar Franco-Najera, 18, of Green Forest, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others, Raul Pulido, 18, of Green Forest, and Julio Guzman, 16, of Berryville were transported to St. John's Hospital ---- Berryville where they were treated and later released.

According to State Trooper Chad Hipps, the accident occurred at 7:48 p.m. on County Road 902 (Sewer Plant Road) southeast of Green Forest.

Pulido, the driver of a 1992 Nissan, was negotiating a left hand curve too fast and drove off the right side of the road, Hipps said. Pulido over corrected the vehicle and drove back across the road and off the left hand side.

After the vehicle left the road, it hit an embankment, Hipps said, causing it to roll over. Franco-Najera was partly ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle landed on him. Franco-Najera was pronounced dead at the scene.

The weather was clear and the road dry, Hipps said. Only the driver was wearing a seat belt.

Responding the the accident were Green Forest police, Green Forest First Responders, Carroll County Sheriff's deputies and Trooper Hipps.
