Berryville Baptist celebrates 20 years on Jan. 16

Monday, January 10, 2005

On Sunday, Jan. 16, Berryville Baptist Church will be celebrating its 20th year of ministry.

Berryville Baptist Church was started as mission out of Open Door Baptist Church in Harrison in January 1985. Rev. Howard Braymer was the pastor then and is still there today. Plans call for Pastor Braymer to be on hand for the afternoon service.

All the former members and regular attendees are invited to attend on this special day. The pastor that started BBC, Lyndel Hix, will be present and will be bringing a challenge for the future.

As an added bonus, the group Tribute will sing. Tribute is based out of Baptist Bible College at Springfield, Mo. Members are all students at the college and travel the entire year to churches and youth camps. This past summer they were in six youth camps in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and Indiana. They led the worship, sang specials, and organized activities. There were 99 saved and 45 surrendered to the ministry in the camps that they were in. They have traveled coast to coast. Brandon Hix heads up this group and is the son of Lyndel and Brenda Hix.

Sunday School/Adult Bible study will be at 9:45 a.m., followed by worship service at 10:45 a.m. Immediately following the morning service a "Potblessing" lunch will be served for all that are present. Around 1:30 p.m. there will be an afternoon service with Revs. Braymer and Hix challenging us for the future and a concert by Tribute.

There will also be a video presentation of the past 20 years of Berryville Baptist Church.

All the community is welcome to join in this celebration. The church Web site is at
