MINNIE V. PHILLIPS, a resident of Berryville, Ark, was born March 26, 1925, in Metalton, a daughter of Roy E. Walker and Rushie Elizabeth (Miller) Walker. She died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at her home at the age of 79.
Minnie and her late husband, James H. Phillips worked as carpenters in Carroll County. She was a member of the Four Square Church in Wichita, Kansas.
On May 4, 1942, Minnie and her beloved late husband, James H. Phillips, were united in marriage. She is survived by her two daughters, Loretta Thomason of Harrison, and Linda Gardner of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Debra Hull of Fayetteville, Teresa Hall of Harrison, Lisa Cabrera and Denise Ellison, both of Fort Worth; four sisters, Thelma Phillips and Allie Duncan of Rudd, Ark., Artie Hughes of Pueblo, Colo., and Wilma Avery of Boise, Idaho; and one brother, Keith Walker of Springdale, Arkansas.
She was preceded by her husband; her parents, two brothers, Floyd and Carl Walker; and one sister, Ava Chapin Brown.
Visitation was held Dec. 21, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral services followed, Dec. 22, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Shelton officiating.
