Gary Lee Smith
GARY LEE SMITH was born March 29, 1971, in Omaha, Neb.
Gary passed away suddenly on Nov. 19, 2004, in Omaha, at the age of 33.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clare Graske, Bert and Vella Smith and uncle Gary Graske.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. Burton and Cynthia Smith, formerly of Berryville, now of Elkhorn, Neb.; brothers and sisters-in-law Travis and Cindy Smith of Waterlook Neb., Doug and Kelly Smith of Walla Walla, Wash., and Aaron Smith of Boston, Mass; sisters and brother-in-law Camey Smith of Waterloo and Belinda and Mike Gardiner of Rogers, Ark.; grandfather Gus Graske of Waterloo, Fiancee Debbie Davis; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Gary grew up in Elkhorn, Neb., and attended grade school at Brownell Talbot in Omaha and graduated from Mount Michael High School in 1989. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1993 with an engineering degree and graduated from Creighton University in 1997 with a law degree.
After schooling, he lived in the Waterloo area. He had worked at Great Plains Testing, Chance Ridge Veterinarian Clinic, G & G Manufacturing and as a farmer.
He had enjoyed the past three years with Debbie Davis, and they had been engaged for the past year.
Funeral services were held Nov. 24, 2004, at Mount Michael Chapel in Elkhorn, Neb. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Elkhorn.
