Ellen Cook

The Holiday Island Community Church invites everyone from Holiday Island and the surrounding community to help celebrate "Ellen Cook Day" on Sunday, Dec.12

Mrs. Cook has served as choir director, pianist, and organist since the church was organized on Easter Sunday, 1993. She is the widow of founding pastor Herman Cook.

Mrs. Cook has resigned as choir director, effective Dec. 31, but will continue to serve the Community Church as organist.

On Dec.12 Ellen Cook will be recognized for her love and loyalty to Holiday Island Community Church and the Holiday Island community as a whole at the 9:30 a.m. worship service. At 2. p.m. a special service of Christmas music will be dedicated to Ellen.

The afternoon program is sponsored by the choir and will include the choir, Golden Bells, comments by Pastor Allen Thrasher, scripture readings, and expressions of appreciation to Mrs. Cook.

After the program there will be a time for fellowship and light refreshments. All those attending are encouraged to stay and visit with her on her special day.
