Disheroon discusses drugs with Berryville AWANAs

Berryville Policeman Kevin Disheroon visited recently with AWANA youth at Berryville Baptist Church, discussing the dangers of drugs and their long-term effects.

Officer Kevin Disheroon, with the Berryville Police Department recently paid a visit to the youth in the Berryville Baptist Church AWANA program.

Disheroon spoke about drugs, and the devastating effects that they can have on a person. He also showed pictures of people that had been on drugs and the long-term effects that they have.

The officer also had a show and tell time allowing the youngsters to ask questions. He also gave a brief lesson on the importance of knowing God and staying in church.

Officer Disheroon is a Christian and a member of Calvary Bible Church in Green Forest.

Parents interested in having their children join the Awana program may call the Berryville Baptist Church office Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and speak to the church secretary about registering them for this children's program.

There are snacks, games and a Bible time every Wednesday during the school season from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
