Ruby (Phillips) Hand
RUBY (PHILLIPS) HAND, a resident of Berryville, was born Jan. 3, 1927, at Osage, Ark., a son of William Felix and Clora Jane (Sisco) McNair. She died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in her home at the age of 77.
Mrs. Hand was a homemaker and attended the Antioch Church. She was involved in the Busy Bees, 4-H Clubs and enjoyed working on genealogy.
On March 30, 1998, she was united in marriage with Ervin D. Hand, who survives her. She is also survived by four sons, Johnny Lee Phillips, Gary Richard Phillips, James Evert Phillips and Dan Hand; four daughters, Barbara Joan Albright, Dorothy Ann Gabbard, Kathryn Diane Gorman and Annette Renee Medford; one brother, Pete McNair and three sisters, Dorothy Carroll, Leoma Morris and Mabel Bartlett; 40 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
On Sept. 24, 1942, she was united in marriage with Clinton Evert Phillips, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, William Paul Phillips; five brothers, Herman, Sherman, Jay, Ott and Bill McNair; two sisters, Verna Newman and Vina Armstrong; and a granddaughter, Pam Angus.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at the Nelson Chapel in Berryville with Bro. Dale Merideth officiating. Interment followed in the Gobbler Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
