John D. Lively

John D. Lively, a resident of Berryville, formerly of the Rudd community, was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Berryville, a son of William Henry and Ruby Clarice (Miller) Lively. He died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, in Berryville at the age of 64.

Mr. Lively was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a wood crafter and also worked as a maintenance man and an electrician. He was a charter member of the Rudd Baptist Church.

He is survived by daughter, Shari and husband Ray Harvey of Huntsville; son Tim and wife Patty Lively of Oak Grove; son Ty and wife Hope Lively of Berryville; daughter Debbie Bean of Eureka Springs; daughter, Sandy and husband Mike Arcand of Harrison; daughter Phyllis and husband Daniel Snow of Pyatt, Ark.; one sister, Maudine of Arizona; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several other relatives and many friends.

On Sept. 17, 1979, he was united in marriage with Elsie Mae (Billups) Lively, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Terry and Jay Lively and other siblings.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at the Gobbler Church near Rudd with Rev. Gerald Miller officiating. Interment followed in the Gobbler Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. On line condolences will be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
