Gladys Jean (Badley) Lawrence
GLADYS JEAN (BADLEY) LAWRENCE, a resident of Green Forest, was born Oct. 12, 1913, in the Enon community of Carroll County, a daughter of Fred and Olar (McElmurray) Badley. She died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, in Berryville at the age of 90.
Mrs. Lawrence was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church in Blue Eye, Mo.
She is survived by three daughters, Bernice Trigg of Green Forest, Joyce Brokaw of Oak Grove and Carolene Villines of Green Forest; two sisters, Pauline Hodo of O'Fallon, Mo., and Lorene Goreing of Mound Ridge, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Kent Trigg, Marilyn Davis, Diane Ketchelmier, Melvin Lawrence, Lisa Pfister, Mason Nance and Christy Heathcock; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
On July 1, 1934, she was united in marriage with James Edward Lawrence, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gerald Lawrence; her parents; step-mother, Nellie Badley; three brothers, Fay Badley, Ray Badley and Arlis Badley; one sister, Wanda Lee and an infant great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at the Nelson Chapel in Green Forest with Rev. Freddy Blevins officiating. Interment followed in the Blue Eye Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
