Women of the Holiday Island Community Church held their sixth annual Silver Tea on Sept. 16. As they arrived, members and guests enjoyed several piano selections played by Betty Dale. Silver Tea co-chairperson Marlene Coughenour introduced Pastor Allen and Georgina Thrasher and Honorary Silver Tea Chairperson Ellen Cook.

After the invocation by Pastor Thrasher, approximately 75 members and guests enjoyed light refreshments served from a table decorated with a large floral centerpiece created by Linda Roper. Each of the guest tables had a floral arrangement in Ellen Cook's teacup collection. Flowers were arranged by Betsy Brummond, Earline Branum, and Lorraine Baldwin.

In addition to chairperson Marlene Coughenour, the Silver Tea planning committee included: Betsy Brummond, Earline Branum, Ann Dinello, Anne Holmberg, Co-chairperson Linda Keith, Janet Kirkwood, Marilyn Reed, and Georgina Thrasher.

Special thanks were extended to all the greeters and servers and the members and guests who gave time, talents, and donations. Also thanked were the various committees whose work behind the scenes helped make the Silver Tea a success.

The New Life Evangelical Free Store of Berryville and Eureka Springs Hospice shared equally the $1,600 donated by all who attended the event.

Special guests were Linda Holm of the New Life Evangelical Free Store and Mary Bland of Eureka Springs Hospice.
