Robert Roper, 49, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of Eagle Rock, Mo., died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at his home in Joplin..
Robert was born June 18, 1955, in Joplin, the son of Stanley Lee and Mary Margarete (Burgess) Roper.
On June 19, 1998, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Gayla Deanne Hunt, who survives. He is also survived by three sons, Josh Roper of Eagle Rock, Danny Pace of Joplin, and Garrod Pace of Korea; two daughters, Megan Pace of Joplin, and Amy Kay Roper of College Station, Texas; one brother, Rick Roper of Eagle Rock, and two grandchildren, Zac Roper and Andy Lee Roper, also of Eagle Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Andy Roper.
Robert did custom welding and was a pipeline inspector with American Consulting, Inc. Robert was a good cowboy and a member of the National Rodeo Association as well as the American Welding Association.
Graveside services were to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the family farm in Eagle Rock, under direction of Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo. Rev. Joe Orthel was to conduct the services.
