LESTER BALDWIN, a resident of Berryville, was born May 3, 1916 in Friend, Kansas, a son of Wesley Beldon "W.B." and Ethel (McKee) Baldwin. He died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at the age of 88.

Mr. Baldwin was a farmer and a member of the Wesleyan Church in Syracuse, Kansas.

On Nov. 24, 1937 he was united in marriage with Martha (Thompson) Baldwin, who survives him. He is also survived by three sons, Robert Dean and his wife Sandra Baldwin of Jasper, James Baldwin of Bothel, Wash., and Gary and his wife Janice Baldwin of Cleveland, Tenn.; three daughters, Carolyn Baldwin of Berryville, Sharon and her husband Larry Walters of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elaine and her husband Robert West of Berryville; a brother-in-law, Victor Horning of Syracuse, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother, and four sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at the Nelson Chapel in Berryville with Rev. Robert Baldwin officiating. Interment followed in the Berryville Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
